"HIBANA" (ヒバナ) was released on August 4, 2017, and is written by DECO*27. While its title’s translation is "Spark", the official English title remains as "HIBANA".
Across the lyrics, many instances of dissatisfaction can be found, the protagonist in the lyrics wants to be hurt more, wants to feel more insecure, they’re in a relationship without a risk or any negatives, which make it incomplete. Their lover doesn’t acknowledge any complaints or fragility, doesn’t respond with any interest in their conversation, only bringing up uninteresting topics and jokes, then pressing for affection, a ‘wall that comes to kiss me’. A perfect relationship without anything negative, but that comes from neither participant of it actually voicing their thoughts and opinions, discarding their ‘no’ in order to continue sailing smoothly.
The ‘Spark’ which is the song’s title may refer to sparks that fly when objects collide with each other, but also the spark of love. In this relationship, they don’t crash or argue, there’s no spark from their disagreements, nor is there a spark to set their passion aflame.
The illustration of its video features Miku under the aim-sight of a gun, Rainbow Six being a first-person shooter game. Hibana is the name of playable character in the game, which is enough for some people, when paired with the song’s early verses, which mention “Recapturing Matches”, one of the competition modes present in the game, a Flash, which could be associated with the flashbangs used by operators, and Mute, yet another character of the series. An English segment halfway through the song mentions “end this game” and “throw your MP5 away”, MP5 most likely standing for Maschinenpistole 5 (submachine gun).
